WWJD Continued

SCENE 2

Shirl - Hey Cath, how was your week?

Cath - Pretty good. How was yours?

Shirl - Oh, my God, there’s Edna? Do you see what she is wearing?

Cath - Where did she ever get something like that. I hope she doesn’t see us.

Shirl - O God, she is coming right toward us.

Cath - Hi, Edna

Shirl - Hi, Edna, what a neat dress!

Cath - Yeah, where did you get it?

C&S - Gag, me!

PAUSE

N2 - That was pretty rotten.

N1 - Yeah, especially since Pastor just preached a sermon on Phillipians 2. which states, "If then there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from
love, any sharing in the Spirit, any compassion
and sympathy, make my joy complete: be of the
same mind, having the same love, being in full
accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish
ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others
better than yourselves. Let each of you look not
to your own interest, but to the interests of
others. Let the same mind be in you that was in
Christ Jesus."

N2 - They really listened.

N3 - Oh this should be good

N2 - What???

N3 - Here comes Margaret.

SCENE 2 (cont.)

Marg - Have you heard the latest?

C&S - No, what.

Marg - Suzy’s mother is having an affair with Mr. Roberts,
the postman.

Shir - No, do tell

Marg - It seems some people saw them together last night.

Cath - Which Suzy?, the one with the greyhound or not?

Marg - Suzy Cline.

Shir - Mr. Roberts is married and has 3 kids.

Marg - I know, can you believe it?

SCENE 2 (Ends)

N2 - It looks like next week, Pastor should preach on Colossians, which says, "But now you must get rid
of all such things as anger, wrath, slander and
abusive language from your mouth. Do not lie to
one another. As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion,
kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear
with one another, forgive each other. Above all
clothe yourselves with love."

N3 - It sounds like a good idea, but the only way people are going to resist temptation is if they do as Jesus did.

N2 - What’s that.

N3 - Commit God’s Word to memory, so that you don’t
even give temptation a chance to settle in your brain.

N2 - Memorizing scripture doesn’t guarantee you that you won’t sin.

N1 - No it won’t, but if your committed to knowing and
doing God’s Word it will certainly cut down the
chances.

N2 - It sure would be easier if life didn’t have any temptation.

N1 - It sure would be. When you are tempted ask yourself, What would Jesus do walking in my shoes, working
at my job and going to my school? I hear people say
Jesus is the way. I believe and that is why I am
asking.

What would Jesus do?

N2 - You know it should would be easier if you could summarize all of Jesus’ teaching into a verse or 2.
That way you would know what to do in most case.

N1 - If you are looking for one sentence to sum up Jesus’ philosophy turn your Bible to Matthew 22:36-39

N2 - Matthew 22:36-39 "Teacher, what is the greatest commandment?" Jesus answered, "You shall love
the Lord your God with all you heart, with all
your mind and with all your strength. This is the
first and great commandment. There is a second
like it, "Love your neighbor as yourself."

N1 - If you are wondering what Jesus would do. It is
accurate to say that Jesus only did those things
which showed love for God and neighbor.

N2 - In other words, before I do something I should, asking myself, will this show my love for God or my love for neighbor.

N1 - That is the best place to start.

N3 - Hey this has been fun. I really enjoyed this

N1 - Ssssh I think Christine is going to pray.

N2 - Why is she praying? Prayer doesn’t always work.

N1 - What do you mean?

N2 - Last week I prayed to God to help me pass my
Algebra test and I failed

N1 - That doesn’t mean praying doesn’t work.

N2 - What does it mean?

N3 - It means God doesn’t always answer your prayers the way you want Him to. Prayer is not a quick fix or desperate plea to save you because you didn’t
study or do what you were suppose to do. You pray
for God’s will to be done. The problem is too often
people pray to change God, instead of praying so
God can change them.

N2 - I never thought of it that way.

N1 - Ssssh Christine is about to pray.
