Brooklyn Bound

Some members of the Senior Youth Group spent the week of June 29th in Brooklyn as part of the Youth Works! Mission Program.

The week was spent serving the elderly, less privileged, and children. A typical day started at 6 a.m. with breakfast and devotions and lunch preparations.   At 9 a.m. we went to our work sites where we stayed until 4 p.m.  After supper at 6 p.m. we had participated in a planned activity which included a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge, scavenger hunt, and Coney Island, and a neighborhood barbeque.   At 9 p.m. we gathered for worship and introspection of the day's events and scriptural theme.   The week ended with a foot washing service and a charge to return home to,

"Do as Jesus first did for us."

It was a great experience.  Our plans for next year are to go to the Crow Indian Reservation in Montana.

Here are some photos of our trip.
