2008 - 2009

Interested in sharing your musical talents in worship?
Here are some opportunities:

Praise Team Leads congregational songs with band-style accompaniments. Provides occasional special music. Rehearsals Sat. 1:30 pm, Sun. 8:00 am in the sanctuary.

Adult Choir Sings anthems that reflect the day’s texts and themes. Supports congregation in singing hymns and songs. All voice parts welcomed, especially men and youth! Rehearsals Thurs. 7:30 – 9 pm, Sun. 9:15 am in the choir room.

Children’s Choir Provides worship music about once a month. Learns about our faith through music. Children should be able to read words somewhat; this choir is recommended for 1st through 6th graders. Rehearsals Sun. 11:30 – noon in the chapel of the church school.

Soloists and instrumentalists If you would like to share your particular talent, even if you aren’t sure in what way, speak with Emily. She can suggest pieces or dates to use your vocal / instrumental ability in worship.

Youth
If you haven’t already, you are invited to join the praise team or adult choir, assist with the children’s choir, or share any talents that you have in worship.

For any of the above, speak with Emily Sensenbach-Gopal at 732-828-0020 (church office) or esensenb@hotmail.com.

Emily Sensenbach-Gopal received her B.A. from Hamilton College and an M.S. in Entomology at Cornell University.  During these graduate studies, she continued her musical education and employment part-time until deciding to undertake further musical studies.  In 2006, she received a M.M. from Westminster Choir College of Rider University, where she majored in sacred music.  Ms. Sensenbach-Gopal’s graduate work at Westminster included performance studies of organ and choral conducting, as well as a strong academic background in church music.

As a church musician, Ms. Sensenbach-Gopal has held organist/choir director positions at St. Luke Lutheran Church (Ithaca, NY) from 2001-2004, Christ Congregation (Princeton, NJ) from 2005-2006, and a number of other churches on an interim or substitute basis.  She has served St. Paul's Church since August, 2006

Outside of St. Paul's, she conducts the children’s choir of the Chinese-American Music Ensemble (CAME) of NJ.  She has worked since early 2006 as a theory/enrichment teacher with the Trenton Children’s Chorus, a nonprofit organization seeking to provide musical opportunity for inner city children.  She also accompanies the Rutgers Queens Chorale.
