Music at St. Paul’s

As we begin the new calendar year, there are a number of “announcements” related to our music ministry:

Christmas Thank-Yous

to everyone who helped with music for our pageant, Lessons and Carols, and Christmas Eve services! Especial thanks to the Children’s, Youth, and Adult Choirs; Elana Kircher; the Praise Team; readers; Benjamin Erb. We are richly blessed by your gifts and your generosity in sharing them.

Choirs resume their normal schedules. Adult Choir

resumes on Thurs., Jan. 3rd, at 7:30 pm in the choir room. Children’s Choir resumes on Sun., Jan. 13th, at 11:30 am in the chapel of the church school. The Praise Team continues to meet on Saturdays at 1:30 pm and Sundays at 8 am.

Ash Wednesday service comes early this year – February 6th

at St. Paul’s. Our adult choir will again combine with that of the Methodist Church to sing some special anthems. Interested in joining for that? Talk to Emily.

Praise Team

seeking “sound guy” or gal. We are looking for someone who can show up on some Saturday afternoons to check balance, volume, etc. Feel a calling to help with this ministry? Qualifications are good hearing, occasional Saturday time, and a willingness to learn about sound equipment.

Organ Concert!

On Sunday, Feb. 24th at 3 pm, St. Paul’s will host an organ recital. There will be a number of performers from the Middlesex branch of the American Guild of Organists (AGO), including Emily Sensenbach-Gopal and John Eisenhauer, who has substituted here. The theme of the concert is America, with works on American themes and by American composers. Admission is free!

Organ Crawl

As a prelude to the Feb. 24th organ concert, there will be no Children’s Choir on Sun., Feb. 17th. Instead, at 11:30, Emily will give a tour of the organ geared toward children but interesting for adults too. If you’ve ever wanted to play the organ, know how it works, or take a peek inside, this is your chance!
