NT, Qs & As

Whose entrancing dance proved fatal to John the Baptist?

Who told Pilate to have nothing to do with Jesus?

What did a man at Jesus’ crucifixion
run to find for the dying Jesus?

Find out the answer to these questions,
as well as your own questions,
Wednesdays at 1 p.m. in the confirmation room.
It is then that we discuss The New Testament readings.

Please note there will be no discussion on February 9th.

Reading TNT

Have you ever wished you had more faith
or that you knew God’s will for your life?

Spending more consistent daily time with God
in personal Bible reading could help.

Here are some ways to refresh your Bible study:

• Always pray for God’s guidance before reading.

• Ask these questions as you read:

• What is God saying to me
or showing me from this passage?

• Is there something here I will learn about God?

• Is there a command to do or not do?

• Is there an example to follow?

• Is there a verse I should memorize?

• Is there a promise to proclaim?

Use these questions as you read
The New Testament reading for Feb.

Nahum & Habakkuk

Nahum pronounced God’s judgment,
while Habakkuk proclaimed that God is still in control
of the world despite the apparent triumph of evil.

To learn more about these short prophecies
attend the discussion, Wednesday morning,
February 2nd at 10 a.m. in the confirmation room.

A House of Prayer

Every Thursday the sanctuary will be open from
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for you to enter for prayer.

At 9:30 a.m. Pastor Rich will lead a
30 minute service of prayer.

Jesus gave prayer high priority in His ministry
and life and expected his followers,
you and me, to do the same.

One parable in particular emphasized that we should
"pray and not give up."

Money is a Good Servant,
but a
Bad Master

Money sends many different messages:

"Hold me and I will dry up the foundations
of benevolence in your soul."

"Hoard me, and I will destroy your sympathy
for others and your love for God."

"Spend for self-indulgences and I will make your soul
indifferent to anything other than your own pleasure."

"Give me away for the benefit of others and I will
return in the form of spiritual renewal to you."

Money speaks in different ways to different people.
It’s the listener who determines which message
is most persuasive.
