Stewardship is…

A spiritual discipline that loosens our grip on what we have for the sake of what we love.  Loving and trusting God in the spirit of Christ, we live and give more freely and openly, less anxiously, less selfishly.

An ancient rabbi wrote,

“We are born with our fists clenched
and die with our hands wide open.”

That is the Lenten discipline of stewardship: learning how to hold what we have less tightly, without clutching, more openly. This lesson is best summed up by Andre Gide who wrote,

“Complete possession is proved only by giving.
All you are unable to give possesses you.”

 

 

Hamilton College Choir

Will be in concert at St. Paul’s on Friday, March 22nd.  We will be one of the several places where they will be singing on this year’s Northeast Concert Tour.  This is the college choir that Greg Weyer is a member of.

We need YOU:

To Attend the concert

To Provide a place where they can lay down their head on Friday night, March 22nd.

If you have a spare bed or couch and are willing to take a student or two home for the night, please call the church office, ASAP.
