Aquarius, The Water Pourer

Aquarius is the sixth house of the zodiac.  Aquarius is a mighty man with a great urn on his shoulder, pouring a surging stream of water into the mouth and over the body of a fish.

The three minor constellations in the house of Aquarius are Piscis Australis, the Southern Fish; Pegasus, The winged Horse and Cygnus, the Swan. Note it contains the most perfectly formed cross in the sky.

Aquarius’ Gospel Representation

Water is the great symbol of the Holy Spirit, and Aquarius is an image of Christ pouring out the Holy Spirit on His people. The Southern Fish, (fish is a New Testament symbol for Christians) has been transformed through faith to escape from satan and sustained by the Holy Spirit. Christ comes in victory on a white horse and empowers us to go out into the entire world. The Swan’s principle stars are Deneb, translated means The Lord is to come and Azel, is translated He who goes and returns. They remind us of Christ’s return which occurs because of his suffering on the cross.

If you want an in depth study on Aquarius ask Pastor for the cassette.

Congregational Meeting

Our annual Congregational Meeting is set for Sunday, March 2nd. Your presence is greatly desired, as consistory will be presenting a renewed vision for St. Paul’s Church.  The meeting will take place following worship in the social hall.

March 5th

This is the date of Ash Wednesday.  This is the date that we begin our sacrificial journey to the cross and to the empty tomb.  Will your Lenten journey be a sacrificial journey?

What sacrifices will you make to identify in some small way the sacrifice Jesus made for you?

Ash Wednesday

This year’s joint Ash Wednesday Service with the Methodist Church WILL be at the Methodist Church.  The service will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Dinner Theatre

On Wednesday, March 12th Dot Madell will feed our stomachs with a delicious corn beef and cabbage dinner.  After dinner the Covenant Players will feed our souls with a theatrical gospel message performed in the sanctuary.

Are You Blessed By St. Paul’s?

To the St. Paul’s family,

How have we been blessed by you?  Not an easy question to answer… simply because of the many, many ways that we find we have been blessed by God through this church.  The blessings we see and we feel do not manifest themselves in material things, although some are tangible like our good health and happiness.  The ways in which we have found ourselves to be blessed and enriched by you are more spiritual.  We feel closer and stronger in our relationship with each other, and our son, and our daughter who is soon to be born to us.  We feel closer and stronger in our relationship with God.

We have only become a part of the St. Paul’s family within the last year or so, but feel like we have known you for most of our lives.  For the many years we have spent searching for, contemplating, sometimes doubting, and sometimes even straying from, our Lord… when we reflect on our connection with St. Paul’s, it all somehow seems perfectly logical to us that our path to this church and our relationship with God has been part of His plan all along.  Such an awareness is an incredible blessing!

This church, and all the people we have met who are part of the family of this church, have renewed our spirituality and our faith.  This is how we have been blessed by you.  Thank you.
