HIGHLIGHTS OF REGULAR MONTHLY
CONSISTORY MEETING
January 11, 2007

Pastor Rich opened the meeting with a devotional and prayer at 7:30 p.m.

Motion passed to approve December 14 minutes. Motion passed to approve December financials.

Correspondence:

Note and $25.00 check towards fire damage from Art & Ann Marie Simons.
Thank you letter from Jessica Corrente for $100.00 sponsorship for People to People summer trip to Spain.
Thank you from Elijah’s Promise for May Communion offering (replacement check)
Thank you from NJ Association for annual Wider Mission contribution
Request from Joyce Kilmer for 8th Grade Ad Booklet. Motion passed to place $65 ad in booklet.
Notice from Central Atlantic Conference on Planned Giving Workshop planned for February 24 – given to Finance Committee.
Letter from Joan & Jack Whitman – Scott plans to participate in 2008 Paralympics in Beijing.
Received $500.00 Check from OLOL Knights of Columbus for fire damage.
Received $250.00 Check for fire damage and a Fire Extinguisher from Guthlein Funeral Home.

Finance and Administration:

. February Communion Offering – will be split between Milltown Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
. Diane Lagowski Data Base Hours – motion passed to pay her $500 for 30 hours spent creating new data base, money to be taken out of office expenses.
. Reminder that Annual Reports are due from each committee by February 4th.

Church and Family:

. Team 4 will prepare communion for February 4th.
. Milltown Teacher’s Luncheon is scheduled for February 16th. Elana took flyers to schools; donation letters are ready; volunteers needed to work event.
. Liturgist needed for Sunday, February 11th with Jacqueline. Lois Jessen volunteered.
. Emily has called 1st thru 5th graders to join Junior Choir. Rehearsals will begin this Sunday.

Education:

. Sunday School – Pete reported that 4 new computers were set up. (3 old computers are free for the taking). Sunday School will start with new curriculum God’s Covenant with Noah.
. Junior Youth Group began 2007 with a Lock in on January 5th.
. Senior Youth Group ended 2006 with a Lock in. They will have several fundraisers during 2007: including Miniature Golf, Car Washes, etc.
. Confirmation Class began meeting on Sunday at 8:45 am.
. Pastor Rich is looking at Lent studies for Adult Bible Study.

Property & Grounds:

. Scott Imhoff’s estimate for the Education Building Portico overhang was $3,850, Insurance company willing to pay $3,848.10.
Projects for 2007 include: updating electricity in Education Building for air conditioning and water seeping in Education Building in the Spring.
Parsonage front steps need repair. Doing a walk thru of our facilities.
. Suggestion to take unused air conditioner from Social Hall and put it in the Chapel.

Spiritual Council

. Will meet in January or February to review membership and make plans for starting a phone ministry.

New Business:

. Reviewed Good Day Lease – Amy would like a 5 year lease with a 3.5% increase annually. Motion passed to proceed with lease renewal.
. Pastor Rich investigating possibility of installing Soft Drink Machine in Social Hall. Members felt that healthier drinks would be a great idea.
