Minutes
January 10, 2008
Pastor Rich
called the meeting to order and opened with a devotional and prayer.
FINANCES:
December financials were reviewed.
Carolyn Erb
went over Dec.
figures. We finished the year in the black for the second year in a row.
A motion was made for March
communion to go to our
world vision child.
Motion to accept was passed.
Annual donations statements
for 2007
will be sent out.
The ordination
of Dan Compton
is set for Jan. 13,
2008.
CORRESPONDENCE:
Pete Herral
requested a leave of absence from all his positions for 2-3 months based
on job issues.
MINISTRY TEAMS:
CHURCH AND FAMILY LIFE:
Ash Wednesday service
will be held at St. Paul’s.
Some discussion on the teacher
appreciation luncheon was held.
Perhaps a breakfast will work better due to the lack of teacher in
service days this year because of the upcoming construction in the
schools.
Lenten family night dinners will
be held this year.
EDUCATION:
Send thank-you note to Janice
Maynard. The birthday party for
Jesus was a big hit.
Children’s Church for 1-5 year olds
has been quite successful and is going well.
Youth groups are back on schedule.
June is a possible games and
concert night with
Our Lady of Lourdes
youth group.
Adult ED. the study of the
Book of Revelation
has been very successful and has two more sessions
PROPERTY:
Delineation was set up for jobs versus projects. Projects being those
things that we can do ourselves while jobs are those things we should
contract out based on time, expense, or complication.
Jobs: waterproof front wall of Ed.
bldg., driveway wall, social hall floor.
Projects: paint chapel, A/C
outlets in classrooms, A/C in Chapel, paint ladies room in church.
OLD BUSINESS:
Blood drive
moved to March 22.
NEW BUSINESS:
The election of officers for 2008 was held.
Motion to re-elect the entire slate was passed.
Motion for Lois Jessen
to replace Mary Crabiel
on the scholarship committee
was passed.
The appointment of ministry teams left most unchanged, except
Jeff Conger
was volunteered as Property and
Grounds chair, pending his
acceptance.
Marisol Ciccone accepted
chair of the Education team.
Communion teams were adjusted for
team 3.
Lois Jessen
accepted chair with backup from
team 4.
The Consistory retreat
will be Jan. 26.
Discussed mission statement
“Bringing God’s love to the heart of the community”:
How do we do this, where are we and what are we doing to expand our
ministry program.
Prayer requests
were collected
and we closed in prayer.
