Greetings

"Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about what happens to you." 1 Peter 5:7.

Do you?   Do you give all your worries and cares to God?

Some people tell God their problems and then stay up all night thinking about them.   Been there, done that.

Some people tell God their worries and then tell God how He should solve them.   Been there, done that.

Neither example is what Peter meant when he said,

"Give all your worries and cares to God.."

What is stopping you from giving all your worries and cares to God?

Is it because you don’t believe God cares about what happens to you?   Or do you have some other reason?

Whatever your reason may be I challenge you to rethink your relationship with God.   God sent His Son to die on the cross for you.   What other proof do you need to verify that God cares for you?

"Come to me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." Mt. 11:28

What is stopping you?

Ricky was bitter and angry because of his parent’s divorce.   He had begged and pleaded that they would change their mind, but they didn’t.   Now he was moving out of his house and into a smaller, cheaper house in a new neighborhood.

He watched from the porch as his uncle and mother carried a dresser toward him.   His mother seemed happy, which made Ricky more angry.

His uncle called to Ricky for help.   As Ricky bent over to pick up the dresser, his uncle said, "Lift your load from your knees, not your back."

Ricky’s mother answered, "That’s what I’ve been doing.   I’m not talking about lifting furniture.   I’m talking about my heavy heart.   I’ve been lifting it to God on my knees in prayer.   I’ve found it’s not the load that can hurt you, it is how you carry it.   I don’t want to get bitter.   I want to keep on trusting God."

How are you carrying your heartache, your worries, your cares?

Does it seem you have more than your share of troubles?

Don’t try to carry them alone.  Get on your knees and lift your load to the Lord in prayer.  Been there, done that.

It is without a doubt the best way to carry your worries and cares.

Prayerfully yours in Christ,
