Stewardship…

Is from the heart not the wallet.

Is proportionate to one’s faith.

Is a response of gratitude to God.

Your stewardship of time, talent and treasure is the only way we can do ministry.

$20,221 Per Month

This is the cost of running our church.

January’s income was $14,714.  If every active member/couple put $7.50 in their envelope, every Sunday, we would meet our financial responsibilities.

The Communion Envelope

Recently I was asked, “Why do we have to pay for communion?  My answer was, “You don’t.”  This led to the next question, “Why is there a communion envelope?”

“The communion envelope,” I said, “is there for anyone who desires to make a special offering.”  Personally, I compare it to the gift of gratitude that I would give to the host when invited to a dinner party.  The gift is not payment, but a token of my gratitude.  My communion offering is a token of my gratitude to God for inviting and welcoming me at my Lord’s Table.

Golden Chain of Care

I am only one, I cannot do everything, but I can do something with the help of GOD. Will you reach out to someone in need this winter. Help warm the heart of some lonely person. There are people who can no longer come to church. Maybe you take some of GOD’S LOVE to them.

THE GOLDEN CHAIN
DOES IT ALL YEAR WITH LOVE.

 Women’s Guild

Our next regular meeting will be held on
Wednesday, March 13th
following the Lenten Service.

We urge all ladies to attend the Lenten Service at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Following this we will go to the Social Hall for a short business meeting and refreshments.

Dear Women of St. Paul’s

By virtue of your membership in

St. Paul’s United Church of Christ

you are automatically a member of the Women’s Guild. Your attendance and support are needed for promotion of the success of the Guild.

A donation returned in the envelope given to you will be appreciated and will help us accomplish our projects of service to the church.

We extend a most cordial invitation to each of you to join us after the Lenten Service on Wednesday, March 13th for our Ingathering meeting in the Social Hall.  Refreshments will be served.

However, if your attendance is not possible, you may wish to place your donation in the collection plate or mail it to the church office.  We are truly grateful for your support.

Sincerely,

Donna Young
President, Women’s Guild

Martha Circle

The Martha Circle met on Monday evening, February 18th, in the Social Hall. Devotions were led by Marie Rittman with appropriate and interesting readings pertaining to the month of February, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Valentine’s Day.  Marie closed devotions with the reading of the “love” chapter in the Bible - I Corinthians, 13th chapter.

Our leader, Ruth Karren, conducted the meeting. Our Circle will be responsible for refreshments at the March 13th Guild meeting after Lenten services.

We discussed a fund-raising project. Arlene Kuhlthau has agreed to continue the selling of stainless silver utility knives and a brochure will be prepared to make the congregation more aware of this project.  Other ideas will be discussed at our next meeting.

We worked on making Easter baskets as tray favors for Meals-on-Wheels shut-ins.

Next meeting will be held on Monday, March 18th at 7:30 p.m. in the Social Hall.  Grace Novello will have devotions and refreshments will be provided by Phyllis Anderson and Donna Young.

We had to put on our “thinking caps” when Ruth challenged us with a President’s Day quiz.  Not only was this fun, but also very informative.  Ruth then closed the meeting with a Prayer for Peace by Helen Steiner Rice.

Marjorie Conger,
Secretary
