HIGHLIGHTS OF REGULAR MONTHLY
CONSISTORY MEETING
FEBRUARY 9, 2006

Pastor Rich opened the meeting with devotional and prayer at 7:40. p.m. Motion passed to approve January minutes and January financials.

Correspondence:

Annual Central Atlantic Conference will be held on June 9-11 at the University of Delaware.  Volunteer(s) requested to attend.
A Faithful and Welcoming handout was distributed.  Meeting on March 5 in Woodbridge. Volunteer(s) requested to attend.
Request from Jeff Vitanza to use our kitchen as he grows his catering business.

Finance and Administration:

Insurance quotes given to Finance Committee to review.
Bull Run Stock info given to committee to review and make recommendations.
Annual Reports due tonight/Tidings due February 16.
We switched to
new envelope company. Should receive new envelopes in March for 2nd quarter.
Recommendation that we give April communion offerings to our World Vision Child.
March Communion would be for Special Olympics.

Church and Family:

Communion will always be on the first Sunday of each month.
Easter services
will be at 8 and 10 am.
Milltown teacher’s luncheon
is on Friday, February 17.

Education:

Completing “Great Banquet”. Sunday School will be in worship this Sunday.
Baptism and Communion lessons will begin in March.
Junior Youth Group made cards for homebound. They will visit Parker Home on Sunday and meet with Adam in March.
Senior Youth Group retreat is March 10- 12. Still some openings.
Mission trip will have 36 participants.
300 Club tickets are selling well. Anticipate exceeding our financial goals.
Miniature Golf will be March 24-26. Looking for sponsorships.
Spaghetti Dinner netted $750.
Received
$2,000 donation from Pete Herral for Mission Trip.
Adult Education will be “The Lord’s Prayer” - 9 week series.
Sunday School teachers are not utilizing computer room.
Tracy Horvath will be a guest teacher.
Recommendation to dismiss students at Coffee Hour.

Property & Grounds:

Serious need to get together a new Tues. Morning Group to do the odd jobs that crop up in our buildings.
Will get
quotes for adding air conditioning to Education Building as well as upgrading electrical.
Need to remove and
replace tile floors in Social hall.
Recommending using memorial funds to change church name on sign, looking for estimates.

Spiritual Council:

All Elders (past and present) are requested to attend Spiritual Council meeting on Monday, March 13th at 7:30 p.m.

New Business:

Reminder Ministry Team Meeting this Sunday, February 12.
We
need to grow our Outreach Ministry and Hospitality Ministry.
Would like to
investigate opening a Thrift Shop with Interfaith Network of Care.
Discussed
need to assimilate members into ministry teams.
Motion passed to purchase new office computer for $1,500.00.

Next Consistory meeting will be Thursday, March 9.

Join the group of people who gather to fix,
repair and tend to odd jobs
which need to be done around the church.

Every Thursday - 7:30 p.m.
