D o You Know Both?
Most people seem to know that John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have life everlasting.” But how many people know what 1 John 3:16 states? “Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.” – 1 John 3:16 Do we choose to remember John 3:16 before 1 John 3:16 because we want the privileges of faith more than the responsibilities of faith? |

A re You Blessed by St. Paul’s?
St. Paul’s has always been a part of my life. My memories are tied into this blessed place. When I started Sunday School, as frightened as any five year old, St. Paul’s was there. As I struggled with school and with growing up, St. Paul’s was there. When I nervously was tested by the Elders before being confirmed, St. Paul’s encouraged me. When I married, St. Paul’s was there. St. Paul’s was there for the christening of my children and for the burial of my parents and my husband. In times of stress, of joy, of life challenges and even in the days of routine boredom, St. Paul’s is my rock, a rock that I often take for granted. But if I ask myself, “What I would do if St. Paul’s were not there?”, I realize how empty my life would be. I thank God for St. Paul’s and for the steadfastness of God’s love that it represents to me. Gloria Bradford |
