APRIL 2007
Greetings,

How big are your plans and prayers? Do you have enough faith in God to know that He can carry out whatever He calls you to do? Or do you doubt Him?

What would it take for you to fully trust God?

These questions were asked of me at the end of a Fellowship of Christian Athletes daily devotional I was reading.

The timing of the devotional could not have been more perfect. I just returned from the youth fellowship retreat. The theme of the retreat was trusting God so we can walk on water.

I shared the following quote, “The way we live is a consequence of the size of our God.”

How big is your God? Has there ever been a time in your life when God seemed unbelievably big? What kinds of things keep you from fully trusting God?

Are you living in fear and anxiety because you think everything depends on you? Do you find yourself shrinking back from taking bold steps in your life because you feel inadequate?

As you are praying over your plans for overcoming issues or struggles in life, let me make one suggestion. Make it B.I.G. –
Better Include God. So many times we plan to succeed, but we rely solely on our own strength and power.

When this happens, failure comes over time. But when we pray to and put our trust and hope in the Almighty, the possibilities are limitless.

He wants to be a part of your pre-planning, your progress and your post-success celebration. He desires to be included in your whole life, not just your Sundays.

Easter proclaims the greatness of God. Easter is God’s answer to your question how much does God love me. Jesus stretched out His arms on the cross to say, “This much!”. Jesus’ outstretched arms attest to the truth that He overcame the power of death and sin. Is there any reason God is not BIG enough to overcome anything else life may throw your way?

If your God is not BIG enough to carry you though the ups and downs of life or if your God is not BIG enough to trust fully than let me suggest to you the following.

WORSHIP!
Without worship we forget our BIG God is beside us. We forget God’s calling and live in a spirit of self-reliance and stubborn independence. We lose our sense of wonder and gratitude.

Our understanding of God grows as we reflect on what God has and done to respond in worship.

May your life be B.I.G. – Better Include God.
