CONSISTORY MEETING
March 15, 2007

with a devotional and prayer at

Thank you from MIPH (now stands for Making It Possible to end
Homeless)
Reformed Church World Service – requested supplies for School and
Baby Kits.
Increase Ministry Involvement – 1 Day Workshop will be held
November 3.
Central Atlantic Conference
Annual Meeting
will be held June 8-10
at the University of Delaware
Request from Allison
Pelszynski for sponsorship in
People to People Europe trip. Motion passed to give Allison
$100 toward trip.
Thank you from Jeff Roberts for gift certificate.
Finance and Administration:
April Communion Offering – Red Cross Tornado Devastation in Alabama
Tracy
will test run church membership
computer programs.
Church and Family:
Team 2 will prepare communion for April 1st
Team 3 will prepare communion for April 5, Maundy Thursday
Team 4 will prepare communion for April 8, both services on Easter
Team 1 will prepare communion for May 6
Team 2 will prepare communion for May 27, Pentecost – confirmation
National Day of Prayer is May 3rd.
14 Young Adults met at Pastor Rich’s house for first meeting of YAM
(Young Adult Ministry) Plans include: Habitat for Humanity, Summer
picnic at Somerset Patriots and white water rafting trip.
Welcome Wagon, letters were sent to new families in Milltown, with a
Dunkin Donuts gift card.
Education:
Curriculum – discussing lots of pros and cons
Give kids bibles (age appropriate)
Suggestion to bring back Adult class in the evening, came out of
Ministry Team meeting. (suggestion also included asking a volunteer
from Confirmation Class to babysit for community service time)
Confirmation class has 10 participants
Junior Youth Group made key chain crosses for shutins
Senior Youth Group – had great retreat, will lead worship this
Sunday.
Mission Trip Itinerary:
Depart July 14th
for Hershey PA,
spend afternoon and evening in Hershey.
Depart July 15th
for Bluefield,
spend Sun-Fri in Bluefield.
Depart July 20th
for Pittsburgh,
spend afternoon and evening in Pittsburgh
Depart July 21st
for Milltown.
Property & Grounds:
Recent Boiler Inspection had new state recommendation that needs to
be completed before next inspection.
Prioritized Task list: will start with upping electric in Good Day
Classrooms for air conditioning (as well as in Chapel); install
instant hot water for church restrooms; parsonage: carpet bedroom,
upgrade bathrooms, wallpaper; re-tile church bathrooms; backhoe
trench drainage in front of Ed. Building.
Spiritual Council:
Reminder - meeting on March
26th at
7:30 p.m.
to review membership and make plans for starting a phone ministry.
Old Business:
Fox Faith
– offer for free installation and basic Direct TV service – need
members to review this offer.
New Business:
Pastor Rich
considering using Continuing Education time to write devotional on
366 Biblical commands.
Pastor Rich
asked for consistory permission to order twenty-four new chairs for
Confirmation Room.
Finance given challenge to find new fundraisers just for church. One
idea was car magnets.
