Consistory Meeting Minutes

March 13, 2008

Pastor Rich opened meeting at 7:35 with prayer.

Correspondence:

Bishop Pipe Organ – report and quotation. Motion to approve
Contract with Bishop Pipe Organ. Passed.

Motion to approve February Minutes. Passed.

Motion to approve February Financials. Passed

Finance & Administration:

April Communion – to assist Milltown School Children

May Communion – Interfaith Network of Care

UCC – CAC Annual Meeting June 13-15 – two delegates are requested.

Church & Family:

Covenant Players – May 4th
Housing needed Saturday night for up to three members.

Spiritual Life:

Distribution of Bibles to 1-3 year olds needs to take place.

National Day of Prayer Service – May 1st

Education:

Teacher’s Meeting was held on March 9th. Curriculum for rest of year is ok. Next Teacher’s Meeting will be on April 13. Confirmation Class did excellent job of presenting Passion Week. They need to engage younger kids better.

3&4 grades adopted World Vision Child, 8 years old. They will send him letters and care packages.

Confirmation will be on May 11th, Mother’s Day.

Senior Youth Group – Retreat was amazing will present worship on Sunday. Miniature Golf set for April 4th & 5th. Flyers were distributed this week. Tricky Tray on May 16th.

Adult –Trusting God’s Guidance – starts April 1st Tuesdays at 7:30 pm and Wednesdays at 1 pm. 6 week study exploring how we attain a heart of wisdom.

Vacation Bible School will run week of July 28-August 1 from 9-12. Theme is Son World Adventure Park. Save the Date cards were sent to past VBS and current Sunday School students.

Old Business:

Spiritual Council Meeting – recommendation from committee to discontinue Elder Emeritus designation.

Letters will be sent to inactives by April 1.

SACC – Rent for June was agreed upon. Copies of lease/checklist to be give to each adult at SACC.

Ministry Team – recruitment by each team for meeting on April 10. Appeals will be made during worship. Contact people who responded to 2007 survey.
