Stewardship

|
Has been described as giving to God a portion of the blessings God has given to you. It includes time, talent and money. Your church budget mostly requires the last one. Financial stewardship is a bit of the chicken and the egg. Do we sell the budget or pitch proportional giving, or both? A Biblical tithe is defined as 10% of your income to the work of the Lord. Protestants today tend to be closer to 2%. If we received 5%, we would have no budget problems. The amount of our problem through March 31 is a deficit of $24,791. Jesus said, “Ask and you will receive.” We are asking you to help close our deficit by beginning to give; by increasing your giving; by being faithful in your giving. |

Women’s Guild

|
We had the pleasure of having the Brownie Troop, which the Guild sponsors, present a program at our monthly meeting Wednesday, April 11th. They sang several of their Brownie songs and also showed us their rededication ceremony. Each Guild member was presented with a beautiful flower made by a brownie. Thank you Elena Kircher and your Troop for an enjoyable program. In addition interesting refreshments were provided by Catherine Voorhees, and each Brownie received a pansy plant given by Flo Torok. Our business meeting followed with Doris Weber presiding. Nominating committee for next year’s officers will be Dot Klesitz, Lori Reeves and Dot Schroff. New business: May 6th - Phase I Celebration. All members are encouraged to attend. May 19th - Men’s Roast Beef Dinner. Ladies will provide the desserts. Our meeting was closed with an appropriate reading by Doris, “Easter Story We Like to Remember”. This was followed by a prayer. Next Guild meeting will be May 9th - Covered Dish. Ruth C. Karren |

Alice Plantec of Golden Chain Care, informed us there are twenty-seven shut-ins. She is in need of help to make contact with these individuals. If you can be of some assistance call Alice at 828-1873. Jack Weber provided us with “words of wisdom” he had received on this computer. Brought some hearty chuckles.
