Highlights of Regular Monthly
Consistory Meeting

April 6, 2006

Pastor Rich opened the meeting with devotional “No Strings Attached” and prayer at 7:35 p.m.

Motion to approve March minutes passed. motion to approve March financials passed.

Correspondence:

Request from Borough of Milltown SACC program for use of Social Hall June 22 through August 25. Motion approved use of hall June 22 through August 25 with reminder that SACC program must vacate building during Vacation Bible School July 31- August 4 between 9 am and noon; Rental would remain $800 per month for July and August and $200 for month of June; SACC would also be notified when floor replacement will occur, as children would have to be kept away from removal process motion passed.
Invitation from Parker Home at Quality Inn in Somerset for church volunteers.
Ad request from Milltown PTA for Community Planner Motion passed to place ½ page ad at a cost of $100.
Letter from Elijah’s Promise stating increased need for support.

Finance and Administration:

First Quarter statements will be going out in 2 weeks.
Tidings deadline - April 20th

Church and Family:

May’s communion offering will go to Elijah’s Promise.
National Day of Prayer Service will be May 4th. Letter sent to Town Council to request service at Boro Hall, Town Council approved request. Letters sent to other church’s requesting their participation.

Education:

Meeting for parents and teachers covered most of the issues necessary.
Curriculum for Sunday School should be distributed to teachers in August, so teachers could allot time needed for each segment.
Junior Youth Group painted sun catchers for our shutins; raised $160 at bake sale and will paint Education Building doors on 4/23.
Senior Youth Group retreat was great. Self esteem is a real issue with our teens.
Mission trip will have 38 participants, 7 adults/31 kids. We have exceeded our goal of $30,000 by running several fund raisers; car wash netted $750, Yankee Candle over $1,000; TGIF dinners, etc.
Confirmation will be June 4.
Adult Education continues with a video study on “The Lord’s Prayer”.

Property & Grounds:

Had one contractor inspect Education Building for adding air conditioning, waiting for quote.
Need to remove and replace tile floors in Social hall and upstairs hallway floor in June/July.

After prayer, meeting was adjourned at 8:30. Next Consistory meeting will be on May 11.

After the Junior Sermon
the children are dismissed to their appropriate classes.

11:30 a.m..

Every Tuesday - 9:00 a.m.

Join the group of people who gather to fix,
repair and tend to odd jobs
which need to be done around the church.

Every Thursday - 7:30 p.m.
