Cell Phones and the Bible

I wonder what would happen if we treated our bible like we treat our cell phones?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn’t live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it as we traveled?
What if we used it in case of an emergency?

This is something to make you go…hmm…where is my bible?

Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don’t ever have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill! And no dropped calls!

Music at St. Paul’s

Children’s Choir

The Children’s Choir is now learning how to play some simple songs on the recorder. We will play one of these in worship on June 3rd or June 17th. Children who are interested in music and worship but nervous to sing are welcome to join us for this venture! We rehearse on Sundays from 11:30 to noon in the chapel of the church school.

Adult Choir

We offer thanks for our adult choir (plus some friends) who worked so hard to enrich our Easter season worship, singing throughout Holy Week and presenting a special Easter piece on April 15th.

The adult choir will continue its Thurs. evening rehearsals (7:30 to 9 pm) through June 14th.

Praise Team

Thanks to God for our Praise Team, which offered an anthem for Palm Sun. and continues to support worship. We rehearse at 8 am Sundays, and instrumentalists are always welcome.

Worship Field Trip

On Sunday, May 20th our youth groups are making a field trip to Manhattan! St. Thomas Church, 5th Ave., is home to one of the finest choral programs in the country, and their Sunday afternoon evensong service is a totally different worship experience from our own reformed/congregational tradition. Youth permission slips are due at the 4/29 meeting. Anyone interested in chaperoning, please speak with Pastor Rich or Emily Sensenbach-Gopal ASAP.

Men’s Choir for Mother’s Day

On Sunday, May 13th, any interested men (confirmation age or older) are invited to sing an easy anthem. We will rehearse at 9 am that Sunday in the choir room. Consider singing in thanksgiving for your mother, wife, or other women who have ministered to you.
