Women’s Guild

Wednesday, May 8th, we had our Annual Mother/Daughter Pot Luck Supper. Donna Young, President, welcomed all present.  She followed with a welcome prayer.

Brownie Troop 231 sang their troop songs and concluded with the singing of the Star Spangled Banner.  Nicely done girls.

The following were honored with the gift of a beautiful hanging basket:

Oldest Mother - Hazel Ecker
Youngest Mother -
Kathleen Adnolfi
Newest Mother -
Donna Evans
Mother with most children -
Doris Weber

We then played
“Pass the Spoon”. There were some anxious people as they did not know what one had to do if she was left holding the spoon.  You never saw a spoon passed so quickly around the table.  The winner was relieved to know she won the table centerpiece.

Ruth Karren had a reading about a child’s thought of what mothers do to rate a special day.

Special thanks to
Chris Schmidt, Dot Schmidt and Gladys Herral of the Sarah Group for decorating the tables.  They sure looked pretty.

Thank you to all who brought the delicious food.
Although we were small in number, those attending had an enjoyable evening.  Ladies, you do not know what you missed by not being there.

Donna closed our gathering with a meaningful Mother’s Day Prayer.

Next regular Guild meeting will be Wednesday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Social Hall.

END OF THE YEAR GROUP REPORTS
DUE FOR THIS MEETING.

Martha Circle

We met on Monday, May 20th with sixteen members present. Doris Weber had devotions. She read interesting articles about Grandparents including “Love is a Grandparent”. This brought back many memories of our own Grandparents.  She led us in the Lord’s Prayer.
Donna, our President, read a communication from Greg Weyer, requesting a donation from the Women’s Guild.  It was voted that we grant his request.
We then had a
match “Your Partner’s Question”. The answer had to come from the Bible.  Everyone knew their Bible answer.

We worked on the 4th of July project for our shut-ins and Meals on Wheels.

Flo Torok provided the delicious refreshments.

We will go to dinner on June 17. Please meet in the Church parking lot at 6:00 p.m.  Dinner at Sir John’s at 6:30 p.m.
