Highlights
of Consistory Meeting
on June 13, 2002

The Minutes and Financials were reviewed from the consistory meeting of May 9, 2002. Motion to accept was approved.

CORRESPONDENCE: Greg Weyer requested prayerful and financial sponsorship for his missionary training and work. Motion to support Greg with $300 per month from June 2002 through May 2003 was approved. The money to be taken from Benevolence and sent to TEAM missions.

$15,000 was received from the estate of Violet Schlenk for the Restoration Fund.

Received an updated letter of resignation from Camilla Jarnot, effective August 31. She will be working thirteen hours per week until then.

Thank you letter from Milltown Rescue Squad Junior Members for supporting their bake sale.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

CHURCH AND FAMILY LIFE - Two special coffee hours will be hosted this summer, first on July 14 in honor of Rhonda and the second on August 24 in honor of Camilla. Committee is working on three projects: a teacher appreciation luncheon possibly Valentine's day, 130th Anniversary Puzzle and celebration and a Welcome Wagon ministry.

EDUCATION - No plans for a family retreat are in the works since only two responses were returned. Ministry team discussed the pros and cons of establishing a Sunday School time that does not run concurrently with worship for the Sunday School year of '03-04.

FINANCE - A special offering envelope for the church's 130th Anniversary in October will be mailed to our church members. The Stewardship Program for Fall will be similar to the approach that we used last year. Budget requests for 2003 must be submitted to the Finance Ministry Team by August 1.

MUSIC COMMITTEE - Looking for replacements - communication sources being looked at but organist/choir directors hard to find. Might need to look at alternate options.

RESTORATION - 300 tickets sold as of June 13 - first drawing Sunday, June 16.

NEW BUSINESS

Florio family has requested a letter of transfer from the Manville Reformed Church so they can unite with St. Paul's. Motion to receive them upon receipt of letter was made and approved.

Emilia Florio asked to be taken under care of consistory. This is a necessary step in her ordination process. Motion approved to take Emelia under care of consistory.

A motion was made to send a $1,000 check from benevolence to the Simon Family who lost everything when their house burned down. Motion approved.

The next meeting is Sept. 12, 2002.
