Women's Guild

On Wednesday, June 8, with a good attendance, we had our last meeting until the Fall.

Donna Young, President, had devotions. Her readings were food for thought “There Is So Much To Be Thankful For” “Find Something To Be Grateful For Each Day”.

Short Business meeting followed. Guild will have the program at Parker Home, Sunday, August 14th. All women of the church are invited to participate.

We will discuss a date to clear the kitchen at our September meeting.

Our social time was enjoyed with ice cream sundaes and fresh fruit treats.

Have a safe and fun summer. May the good Lord watch over you until we meet again.

Junior Youth Group

JYG Pool Party/BBQ is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, July 21, 1:00 p.m. - ‘til? Please RSVP to Donna Fricke (247-0596) ASAP so we can determine if a majority of us will be in town!

On Tuesday, 6/7/05, we mailed approximately ten boxes of cookies and toiletries to three men in Iraq. Prayers of thanks for all who baked, donated money, bubblewrap and toiletries. Special thanks to Kathy Stout, Jill Hipko, Flo Torok and Sharon Rahman.

Organ Recital

What a glorious afternoon it was. The attendance was most pleasing.

We thank our guest organists, Kaye Strunk Peck, Methodist Church, Dr. Camilla Jarnot, former organist, J. Mark Dunn and our own Paul Villarreal.

The organ selections rendered were superb. Also there was not a dry eye when Paul sang “Bless This House”.

Dot Madell outdid it again with refreshments that would make royalty sit up and take notice. Many thanks to Dot and her helpers, Audrey Breece and Margaret Schmidt.

The total of the freewill offering was $925.50. Thank you all for your generosity. This will be added to our ongoing organ fund for any future repairs.

The organ keys are not cooled down yet from this recital and we already have requests to have another recital in the future.
