Highlights of
Consistory Meeting

June 9, 2006

Pastor Rich opened the meeting with devotional and prayer at 7:38 p.m.
Motion to approve May 11 minutes passed. Motion to approve May financials passed.

Correspondence:

Letter was sent to Parker Home informing Sister Ann that we would no longer provide worship every other month.
Motion passed to list Church in Guide to Life in No. Brunswick.

Finance and Administration:

July Communion offering will benefit FDCARES a project that provides teddy bears to distressed children.
August Communion offering will go to Spectrum For Living.
Tracy will attend Stewardship Workshop on Saturday, June 17

Church and Family:

Communion– July 2nd – Team 1; August 6 – Team 2; September 3rd – Team 3
Hospitality Ministry Elana explained that we have 26 shutins – 20 have been adopted (some by more than 1 person); need to adopt the last six.

Education:

June 18 is last Sunday school class. Sunday School will host coffee hour on June 18 and will honor Geri Lizardi, who is retiring.
Junior Youth Group will have a pool party during the summer.
Senior Youth Group will have a meeting on June 25 to prepare all for mission trip.
Vacation Bible School needs teachers and helpers.

Property & Grounds:

Men’s Group will do repairs each month.
Jeff Conover will repair a/c in the sanctuary tomorrow.
Installation of Education Building Windows scheduled for this weekend and June 24 & 25.

Spiritual  Council

Received 2 responses to letter sent to inactives. Don Whitehead had a
stroke, worships at the shore. Request to remove Steven & Marie Duzenack.

Old Business

Outreach Program – reachingamerica.com. Motion passed to budget $1,000 for this program.
Much discussion on Sunday School, impact of losing 4+ teachers. Discussed pros and cons of worship alternatives.

New Business

Organist Search – have 2 viable applicants so far, Janet Law and Daniel Lipper. Both will be asked to cover Sundays in June and July.
Discussed need to update Salary/Benefits/Contract.

2007 Budget Requests are needed by August 1 by the Finance Committee
Covenant Players are scheduled to visit on October 29. Housing is needed for them.
Motion to adjourn meeting at 9:48 p.m. Next Consistory meeting will be on September 14. (possible meeting July 13.)
