HIGHLIGHTS OF
CONSISTORY MEETING
OF JUNE 14, 2007
Pastor Rich
opened meeting
at 8:12
with devotion from Luke 4:18-19.
Motion to approve minutes of May meeting Approved.
Motion to approve May Financials approved.
Reminder that budget requests need to be given to Finance Committee
by end of summer.
Correspondence:
Letter
from Dick & Barbara MacDowell
itemizing upgrades made to boilers as per state inspection. Thank
you sent to the MacDowells
for donating the labor and costs.
Finance and Administration:
Head
Usher schedule for
July-December distributed
(then corrected)
July
Communion will be sent to Bonnie Brae School
August
Communion will be given to Parkview School Nurse for families in
need of basic school supplies, etc.
September
Communion will be given to Challah Bread program at RWJ. Challah
Bread is distributed as the bread of hope to cancer patients.
Reviewed
and approved draft of Summer Appeal Letter.
Church and Family:
Communion

Reiterated the following: Welch’s Grape Juice only!!! Communion will
be at the railing for July,
August
and September.
Need
to make wider appeal inviting congregation to attend Ministry Team
Meetings.
Suggestion
made to design a pamphlet outlining our many programs.
Reinstate
“mugging” visitors.
Church
Picnic will be September 9.
Church
135th Anniversary Celebration
October 14.
Education:
Sunday
School bibles will be purchased for 1-3 year olds, 4-7 year olds and
3rd -6th graders.
A
copier/printer will be purchased for the Sunday School.
Adult
Education has just completed Ephesians. Will study Revelation for 12
weeks in the fall, beginning
Tuesdays 9/11 at
7:30 pm
and Wednesdays 9/12
at 1 pm.
Property and Grounds:
Will
work on air conditioning in Good Day and Chapel next week.
Old Business:
Elders
reviewed and made recommendations for Inactive List.
Kathleen
Garvey reviewed Child, Youth,
Volunteer & Staff Protection Policy. As strongly suggested by
insurance company, a policy will be adopted with regards to adults
volunteering to work with children.
New Business:
Details
on Ark Almighty was distributed for further review.
Meeting
was adjourned
at 9:40.

will be on Thursday, September
13.
