Members of St. Paul’s,

I wanted to thank you very much for your scholarship. It is greatly appreciated and will help me with my college expenses. I am looking forward to this next step in my life and I will keep you all in mind along the way.

Thanks again,
Janice Creighton

Members of St. Paul’s Church,

“Thank You” is such an inadequate phrase to express the humble gratitude we feel for your kindness since our tragic fire on May 31, 2002.  Your unconditional generosity, emotional and spiritual support have been an insurmountable source of strength for us. Although this has been a horrific event, somehow we have great peace - the product of God’s goodness and your prayers.

We look forward to rebuilding and remaining your friends and “family” here in Milltown. “There’s no place like home.”

God Bless You.

Chinese Auction

The gift tree

with fall color leaves in the Narthex of the church awaits you. Please take a leaf when you leave church on Sunday.

128, 256, 512, 1024

No they are not winning lottery numbers.

However, the church would be a winner if you put on August 4, 128 pennies; August 11, 256 pennies; August 18, 512 pennies; and August 25, 1024 pennies in a baggie or in the offering plate in the Narthex.

Our Nation’s Godly Heritage

Did you know that the Pledge of Allegiance was in the news nearly 50 years ago, when the words “under God” were first included?   In 1954, as a result of a national campaign by the Knights of Columbus, Congress voted to add those important words, and the Pledge was re-written as we now know it. President Eisenhower addressed Congress after the resolution was passed, stating, “In this way we are reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in America’s heritage and future; in this way we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country’s most powerful resource in peace and war.”

Our reliance on God is acknowledged in the words of the Pledge.   When that reliance was threatened recently by a circuit court ruling, the protests were loud and strong from every corner of the nation - from small towns to the highest members of Congress.   The words “under God” signify the unity we have as a nation, and acknowledge God as the source of our rights and freedoms, just as was the case with our Founding Fathers.
