Letters…

Dear Members of St. Paul’s,

Thank you for the gift you so graciously gave me to help with my college expenses. It certainly will be put to good use as I start on my expensive, yet exciting next step of my education.

It is a great feeling to know that while I will be facing many changes in the next few years, St. Paul’s will be there for me.

Once again, I thank you,

Sincerely,
Jennifer L. Kardos

Dear Consistory & Congregation,

Thank you for your very generous contribution in helping out me and my baseball team with our Cooperstown trip. It is very much appreciated!!

Hello from The SonZone Discovery Center!

We have just gotten back from traveling on the "Transport to Truth" to learn all about GP4U! In English, that translates to "Hi, we just finished this year’s Vacation Bible School Program and we know about "God’s Plan For You!" From August 7-11, over 60 children enjoyed lessons, crafts, singing and friendship while learning the story of Creation, Adam and Eve, Jesus - our gift from God, and the plan that God has for us. We had lots of fun and now we need to acknowledge some Very Important People.

Our thanks to:

Pastor Rich - when we started up the Vacation Bible School Program under his leadership five years ago, he told us he somehow always manages to select the hottest week of the summer for VBS. Well, he really did it this year! (We’re not too sure about being thankful for that, though!)  In any case, he never lets the heat get to him and always manages to fill the chapel with lots of energy.  He leads his class and the Closing Musicale with encouragement and enthusiasm.

Diane Downey, Christina & Garret Conger, Michael Downey, Sue Dowling, Patti Hanlon, Diane Lagowski, Flo Torok, Janis Scelsa, Beverly Christiansen, Joanne Perry, Elizabeth Whetzel, Laura & Lynne Ricicki - our teaching staff - they managed to keep cool and calm and provided fun, imaginative lessons for all the children.  We are so lucky to have them share their talents with our children.

Elana Kircher - our Craft Whiz - and her helpers, Jackie Kruzik, Laura Pelszynski & Linda Jones - Each carefully chosen and prepared craft was just wonderful. The children really enjoyed them so much. I appreciate your dedication and effort.

Our Kitchen Ladies - Grace Novello, Marge Scelsa, Louise DiGioia, Shirley Hoppes - for preparing snacks and juice each day and keeping the kitchen and Social Hall ship-shape.

The Webers and the Rocas - for the generous donation of juice boxes and animal crackers for the children’s snack time.

Carol Lagowski - for the administrative help and support of this yearly endeavor.

Special thanks to Flo Torok for making tapes of the music for the 43 families with children attending - to keep the spirit of our program alive all year long.

Special thanks to John Torok for the wood cut stars for each child as a memento of the week.

The Congregation - for their support of our plea for craft supplies - You all use LOTS of paper towels.

Jim Voorhees - our jack of all trades.

The parents, grandparents and families - for sharing your children with us and for turning out for our closing program. We hope you enjoyed the show and can appreciate what it takes to do this all in one week. Special thanks to those parents who stayed with their children and assisted the teachers in the classroom, set up of craft tables and served refreshments for the closing program.

Our program is made possible by the generous giving of time and talent by these people.  I hope I see you all again next summer.  We have done a VBS program six times now with Pastor Rich as our leader and enrollment has increased each time.  To me, that is a sign that we do this well and it provides a much appreciated opportunity for our congregation and our community to keep God in the lives of our children.  I feel that is so important in this day and age. Looking to the future, we must again ask our congregation to meet the challenge presented by assisting us in planning for next summer.  I am hoping we can count on your support. Enjoy the rest of your summer! See you in Sunday School!

Chinese Auction

September is here and so is the Chinese Auction! We hope you are looking for bargains and planning what to donate for our Chinese Auction on September 22nd! Our success depends on YOU and your generous donations. You can bring your donations to the church office. Tickets are available in the office and at coffee hour. We would also appreciate baked goods for the day of the auction.

Thanks in advance for your support!

ATTENTION
Sunday School Kids!

We are hoping that you will also help support our Chinese Auction. On your first Sunday after the
picnic (September 17th), we would like for you to bring in items for a baking basket.  You can bring in cake, brownie, or cookie mixes, cupcake liners, baking sheet or pans - anything you like!   We appreciated your help last year in making our Chinese Auction a success and we know you’ll help us out again.
Thanks so much!
