Wanted: Quilters!!!!

Only Those With Real “Heart”, Please!

I NEED YOUR HELP!
October is
“Pregnancy Loss Awareness Month”

and every year I organize and officiate at an Interfaith Memorial Service at St. Peter’s University Hospital for all those who have experienced a pregnancy loss, their friends, and families.

One of the most powerful times in this annual gathering is the creating of a “Memorial Quilt”, much like the AIDS Quilt, where families create a square to add to the larger quilt to memorialize the child they lost.

I am desperately seeking anyone with quilting experience to assist me in the final assembly of this quilt.  You don’t necessarily need to be present at the service itself, just willing to help me before (in the planning) and after (in the actual assembly).

If you have the time, and are willing to share your talents to create this powerful Memorial Quilt for those who have experienced a pregnancy loss, please call me at

(732) 745-8565.

Thank you very much!!

Reverend Jacqueline Rotteveel

Dear Pastor Rich and friends in faith,

I belatedly express my gratitude to you for considering me for scholarship. My semester in Women’s Health has proven to be a challenge and a blessing!  I certainly hope to honor your faith in me, and my plans to pursue my family nurse practitioner and MSN degree by your generous support.  It is only with your prayers and support that I continue in God’s plan for my life to bring His spirit to others through nursing.  Your support will certainly help defray my tuition and textbook expenses, with many thanks.

I was delighted to be able to participate in VBS this year, what a joy to be childlike in faith again, singing and dancing with robust!  It was an honor to work with some very dedicated people, who readily put faith in action, in spite of the heat.

Yours in faith,

Joanie Lynn

HOWDY! Greetings from SunCreek Junction!

Our Vacation Bible School program just wrapped up after a fun-filled week visiting a western mining town where we all found gold - the golden news that God loves us and sent us His son. From July 30th to August 3rd, 60 children and a whole bunch of grown-ups enjoyed lessons from the Book of Acts, singing, crafts and friendship. Now our challenge is to share that golden news with the world - but before we saddle up and go on our way, we have some BIG THANK YOU’S to send out!

Our Thanks to:

Pastor Rich - As always, chapel time is filled with fun, exercise and singing praises to God. He is so energetic! Thankfully, he didn’t order a heat wave for this year.

Our teaching staff: Sue Dowling, Patti Lynch, Sara Lucid, Linda Griffin, Linda Jones, Katie Pulda, Flo Torok, Bev Christensen, Matt Lucid, Joanne Perry, Diane Lagowski, and Greg Weyer - the children are blessed to have such a caring and talented group of people sharing their love of God with them.

Elana Kircher - the craft marvel - and her staff: Laura Pelszynski, Jackie Kruzik and Joanie Lynn - each year the crafts are amazing but this year was even better. The children enjoy making them and playing with them for months afterward.

Our Kitchen Ladies: Grace Novello, Marge Scelsa, Shirley Hoppes and Louise DiGioia - they prepared snacks and juice each day and kept the kitchen in tip-top shape all week.

Carol Lagowski - for the administrative help and constant support of the program.

Special thanks to Flo Torok for making cassette tapes for each of the families attending our program - to help keep them tapping their toes through the year.

Special thanks to John Torok for making a wooden “Nugget the Horse” for each child as a memento of the week.

Special thanks to the Weber and the Voorhees Families for their donations for snack time for the week.

The parents, grandparents and families for sharing your beautiful children with us and for turning out for our closing program. We hope you would feel the love of God amongst us.

Our program has been made possible for seven years now by the generous giving of time and talent by all those listed above. Although I may organize this program, all credit should be given to them - for sharing their love of God with the children in a real “hands on” way.  I would not do this without them. Although It may look like a lot of work, just ask any of them how much fun this week winds up being.  We hope that you will join in on the fun with us next summer.

Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer and see you in Sunday School!
