Just one – Yes, that’s all it takes – like the first rain drop that leads to a great storm, which in turn causes the flood waters to roar.

Just one – Yes, that’s all it takes - like the single seed that is planted, which grows up to become a fruit tree that bares enough fruit to feed hundreds.

Just one – Yes, that all it takes – like the first heartbeat of a newborn child, which can grow to become one of the world’s greatest leaders.

Just one – Yes, that all it takes – like the first words on an empty page which soon grows into a famous novel.

Just one – Yes, that all it takes – like a tiny germ which left untreated soon becomes an epidemic, then a plague that sweeps a nation.

Just one – Yes, that all it takes – like one hand reaching out to another, which starts a friendship that lasts a life time.

Just one – Yes, that all it takes – like the caring heart that takes the time to listen, which then makes a difference in another’s life that changes it forever.

Just one – Yes, that all it takes – like a simple smile that makes a difference when it is passed on to another, who then continues to share it with others.

Just one – Yes, that all it takes – like when God sent His only Son to die on the cross, so we could all be forgiven for our sins, each and every one.

Just one – Yes, that all it takes – like the creation of the first man “Adam” and the first woman “Eve” – to start the world’s population as we know it today.

So remember this the next time you are faced with one of life’s many choices, even though you are Just one – Yes that’s all it takes to make a big difference in someone’s life forever.

Because life itself gives us but Just one chance at living, so in the end make sure that its been a life well worth living.

After all, in the end – we only get Just one chance at eternity spent with our dear Father in Heaven.

This poem was given to the members of the senior youth group at our mission trip to West Virginia by Preston. It was read during worship on July 22nd.
