The Grace of Giving

Paul wrote to the church,

"But just as you excel in everything,
in faith, in speech, in knowledge,
in complete earnestness and in your love,
see that you also excel in this grace of giving."
2 Cor. 8.7

Paul was not ordering the church members to give, but he was encouraging them to prove that their love for God was sincere. The basic premise he states is that when you love someone, you want to give him or her your time and attention and to provide for their needs. These are signs of genuine love.

The Celebration Hymnal

For nearly 2000 years believers have gathered to CELEBRATE our LORD with Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual songs. Today, a fresh vitality infuses our worship as beloved hymns of faith are complimented by meaningful new praise and worship songs. This has meant reproducing hymns, buying licensing rights to do so, and making our bulletin 7 & 8 pages.

The consistory has approved the purchase of new hymnals that blend the old with the new. YOU can purchase a hymnal and have it dedicated in memory of someone or in honor of someone if you should wish. The cost of a hymnal is $10. A form is in the back of this month’s Tidings and will be in the bulletins throughout the month of October.

The new hymnals will be dedicated during worship in November.
