Dear Pastor Weyer,

Thank you so much for sending me the great hymnbook of St. Paul’s which reached me already two months ago.

I’m trying to rehearse some of the songs with my mixed-choir here in Oberzell.

Kathy Ochs from Detroit will join us next week. Walter Ochs and I are glad to see that there is so much interest for our common history Oberzell and Milltown both.

If we come to Milltown once again I will meet you at St. Paul’s. We must keep in touch, all the families and people who know each other. The roots are going back to the year 1848, when Philipp Kuhlthau first came to Milltown as a citizen of Oberzell.  He was the cousin of my great-great-great grandfather Konrad Kuhlthau (Oberzell).  Kearney Y. Kuhlthau (born in Milltown, now Piscataway) is a great grandchild of him. Isn’t that great?

Give our best wishes to all who know the Oberzell “genealogy fanatics”.

Walter Ochs and

Michael Kuhlthau

St. Paul’s Consistory,

Thank you for your decision to support me $150/month for this next year. I do realize how difficult this decision was in light of some of the misunderstandings regarding my initial letters and phone calls to members of the congregation, as well as in light of the continuing restoration project. Your belief in the ministry the Lord is leading me into and your trust in God to provide all your needs as He promises to are encouraging, and I am glad that I will have the opportunity to see our relationship continue forth into the future. St. Paul’s is constantly in my prayers…may God draw many to Himself in all you do as a body of Christ!

In His Service,

Gregory Weyer

The Todd M. Beamer Foundation

Dear Sir/Madam,

On behalf of the Jr. Youth Group of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, I am donating $100.00 to your foundation.

Our group of youngsters, ranging in age from 8-12 years, raised this money through a county-run, adopt-a-road program. They all voted on where this money should be donated, and they chose your foundation. We hope that this small amount of money will help someone in need.  God bless you all.  Thank you.

Sincerely,

Donna Fricke

Women’s Guild

We joined the Men’s Group for a supper meeting on Monday, September 8th. The food was delicious as usual, as prepared by Dot Madell.

We had an interesting discussion led by Pastor Rich about 911 as to how this has impacted our lives and how we should go forward asking God’s guidance.

August 10, the Women’s Guild conducted the service at the Parker Home. Donna, our President, wants to thank the following members for their participation: Phyllis Anderson, our Spiritual leader, led the devotions; attending were Marge Conger, Grace Novello, Lori Reeves, Bev Christenson, Alice Plantec, Hazel Ecker, Flo Torok and Ruth Karren.

Our next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Social Hall.

Martha Circle

Martha Circle met on September 15 with eleven members present.  Arlene had devotions and she read poems and stories of friendship.  Ruth, our leader, read two poems, “Church by the side of the road” and “The one I could not see”.

We watched a video of Southern Country Churches which was very interesting.

We also celebrated Flo and Phyllis’ birthdays. Our next meeting is October 20.

Sarah Circle

Sarah Circle met September 15 with three members present. We missed all the members that were out sick.  Chris read “What Prayer Can Do” and “His Mysterious Way”. Our next meet will be October 20.
