HIGHLIGHTS OF
REGULAR MONTHLY
CONSISTORY MEETING
September 14, 2006
Pastor Rich
opened the meeting with devotional and prayer at
7:30 p.m.
Motion passed to approve July 14.
Motion passed to approve June, July and August.
Correspondence:
Pride in Milltown Day - $400 from advertising account was spent to
sponsor a slide at event on October 7.
Our Lady of Lourdes is hosting a Fall Festival end of September - $350
to sponsor the popcorn machine.
Hartford Insurance Company requires a Corporate Resolution before paying
out claim on the estate of Elaine Dittman. Motion passed to send
resolution authorizing Pastor Richard H. Weyer to act on the behalf of
St. Paul’s United Church of Christ with regards to contract.
Interfaith Network of Care - 10th Anniversary ad request.
Motion passed to support INC’s 10th Anniversary with a $1,000 ad,
taken from Miscellaneous Grants.
Thank you letters:
Interfaith Network of Care – for Vacation Bible School offering.
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for June Communion offering.
Garret & Christina Conger for scholarship awards.
Finance and Administration:
Junior Youth Group will be designating October Communion offering. They
will also be greeting and ushering on October 1st.
November 19th is Stewardship Sunday
Team 4 will prepare communion for October 1st.
Covenant Players are scheduled for worship on October 29, Reformation
Sunday. Need housing for 4 members on October 28.
We are hosting Thanksgiving Eve worship service. Christmas Eve falls on
a Sunday this year. Worship will be 10 a.m., 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Education:
Sunday School starts this week. Will begin with Abraham and Sarah.
Teachers need to return teaching materials to Pete when finished with
lesson.
Christmas pageant will be “Santa Gives Back Christmas”. Elana will be
casting soon.
Junior Youth Group will have first meeting/barbeque on Sunday, Sept. 17
at Albert Ave. park. They will host a bake sale on Oct. 1 as well as
ushering and greeting at worship. During October they will collect shoes
and socks.
Senior Youth Group will also have first meeting on Sunday, Sept. 17
topic of discussion for Fall will be sex.
Confirmation Class begins on Wednesday, September 20. Looks like 11
youth will be in the class.
Adult Education for the Fall will focus on weekly scriptures.
Small Groups – 5 topics were listed in the Tidings for groups to start
with.
Teens will be scheduled to work specific Sundays, extra kids need to be
sent back to worship.
Property & Grounds:
Installation of windows scheduled for October 7th & 8th and 28th and
29th.
Make a Difference Day is October 28th – we will be making a difference
at St. Paul’s by cleaning up, sprucing up and clearing out.
Jeff Conger installed 2 new fans in the Chapel.
Good Day Nursery School installed new drainage and rubber chips in
playground. Found a blocked drainage pipe.
Old Business:

New Business:
Boy Scouts would like us to sponsor a Cub Pack. Motion passed not to
sponsor a Cub Pack at this time.
Discussed pros and cons of Milltown SAC program. Motion passed to not
allow SAC program in 2007.
Advent prayer focus to include inactives.
Proposed Budget was reviewed. Budget to be voted upon in October.
Consistory Retreat scheduled for January 26 & 27.
Motion to adjourn meeting at 9:25 p.m. Next Consistory meeting will be
on October 12.
