HIGHLIGHTS OF OCTOBER
11, 2001 The minutes were reviewed from the consistory meetings of June 14, 2001 and September 13, 2001. Motion to approve past Minutes accepted by all Consistory members present. COMMITTEE REPORTS CHURCH OFFICE - The Tidings deadline is Thursday, October 18. CHURCH AND FAMILY LIFE - Prep team list for upcoming communions was given out. Reported that 183 received communion, 18 from the Sunday School and 27 at the Contemporary Service. Not enough consistory members are serving at communion. Recommendation that all consistory members report to church office before worship service to make sure enough servers are here. EDUCATION - New Sunday School program moving well, very few problems and all thrilled with new TV. FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION - Restoration Fund is incorrect $60,000 was borrowed, not $65,000. Line item Income from Fund Raisers needs to reflect the dollar amount. Jim Erb reported that personnel reviews were completed on all employees. Proposed Budget was discussed in detail. Motion to accept the financials with corrections. Motion to accept the proposed budget with changes accepted by all members present. PROPERY AND GROUNDS - We will be getting our new toilet and water fountain for the Sunday School. The men replaced ceiling tiles in the church offices, cleaned back room and closets and ordered new railings for the parsonage. Quotes are needed for trimming trees and for termites at garage entrance. Discussion on dumpster vs. cans. Need for new Lawn mower. Discussed usage of the Church Parlor by Women’s Guild and Sunday School. Fall Cleanup scheduled for Saturday, December 1. RESTORATION - Thank you cards will be sent to those who returned pledge cards. MUSIC COMMITTEE - Very happy with Sunday Night Contemporary Worship. Attendance is good and enjoying the variety of musicians. OLD BUSINESS - Pastor Rich announced that John Luttman, Laura Pelszynski and Jack Perry will remain on Consistory. That Linda Jones, George Long, Rob Ramsen and Maryanne Stout have accepted nomination to Consistory. Pastor Rich reminded that October 21 begins Moving Forward in Faith campaign. NEW BUSINESS - Motion to purchase three computers for the Sunday School from the Memorial Fund in memory of Anna Nicola and Gert Bailey was accepted by all members present. Motion to nominate Carolyn Erb as new Controller was accepted by all members present. Motion to combine job functions of Controller & Financial Secretary to Controller was accepted by all members present. Fourteen new members to be received on October 28. Pastor Rich will be on vacation November 17-26. Motion to accept five new signatures on bank signature card was accepted by all members present. Prayer concerns: Harry Burgeson, Jacob Walsh, Edwin Schlenk Pastor Rich closed the meeting with The Lord’s Prayer. The next meeting is Thursday, November 8, 2001.
