Women’s Guild

Monthly meeting was held on Wednesday, October 9th with 18 in attendance.

As Secretary of the Guild, I led the devotions with an opening prayer asking for God’s guidance and blessing on our Guild. There were readings “The Change of Seasons” And “God Blessed Autumn”.  Devotions were concluded with a reading of “Nobody Walks Alone”.

We were pleased to have members of the Sarah Circle and Norma Lowe with us.

Donna, our President, reviewed upcoming activities for the Guild, but will take one month at a time.

November 13th - Thank Offering Service. Phyllis Anderson our Spiritual Life Leader will conduct the service.  Please bring canned goods to this meeting.  Meeting will be held in the Chapel at 7:30 p.m. Grace Novello will have refreshments.
Observe future Tidings for events in December.
Discussion followed as to whether we should participate in the Blanket Fund sponsored by World Church Service.  It was voted to do so.

Dot Klesitz reviewed the CROP Walk and requested “walkers” and the need for finger food at the end of the walk. Contact Dot if you can help in some way.

Flo Torok kept the Autumn theme with her table decorations and delicious baked apples, cakes and Autumn basket favors. Great job, Flo.

Martha Circle

Martha Circle met on Monday evening, October 21, 2002 with the leader, Ruth Karren presiding.  Dot Klesitz led devotions by reading several very inspiring poems and a very timely prayer.
Arlene Kuhlthau reported that some knives were sold at the Men’s Roast Pork Dinner and she will be ordering more.  Dot Klesitz gave a report on the CROP Walk - she said it was a very rewarding project.  Doris Weber explained about the Rummage Sale on November 1st and 2nd and said help will be needed to assist the Youth Group.  The Guild will again this year collect items for Nursing Home residents.

Next meeting will be held on November 18th in the Social Hall with devotions by Marie Rittman and refreshments by Doris Weber. Ruth closed with a poem entitled “His Hands”.
