Women's Guild

Flooded streets and rain downpour did not keep members from attending the monthly meeting of the Women’s Guild on October 11, Donna Young, President presiding.

Secretary read a letter from Pastor Rich acknowledging the guild’s donation for new windows in honor of the Women’s Guild.

Our church is the host for the Thanksgiving Service on November 22nd. Guild will be responsible for refreshments. Ladies of our church – finger food will be needed.

Dates to remember: Soup Sundays (fund raiser) First Sunday in December, January, February and March.

Next Guild meeting will be Wednesday, November 8, 7:30 p.m. Social hall. Phyllis Anderson will have devotions and Flo Torok will have refreshments.

Martha Circle

The Martha Circle met on Monday evening, October 16th at 7:30 p.m. in the Social Hall with the Leader, Ruth Karren, presiding. Marie Rittman read devotions from a book entitled “Jesus and His Times” which described the duties of family members in a very interesting way.

Ruth’s program using bible verses in a very seasonal way was enjoyed by all. (Good job Ruth.)

We discussed the pros and cons of changing our meeting to the daytime and it was decided to try this for a few months. We will be meeting on the fourth Monday of the month at 11:30 a.m. and we will each bring our own lunch. So, remember the date ladies: Monday, November 27th at 11:30 a.m. in the Social Hall. Marjorie Conger will have devotions.

(No meeting in December as that will be Christmas Day.)

At the present time Gary Conger is coordinator of the Sunday morning Coffee Hours and he would like to have your help by signing up to serve as a host. There is a sign-up sheet on the kitchen counter in the Social Hall. After signing up, if you would like your name and the occasion printed in the Church Bulletin, please call Carol at the church office (828-0020).
