REGULAR MONTHLY
CONSISTORY MEETING
October 19, 2006
Pastor Rich
opened the
meeting
with devotional on Volunteers and prayer at 7:30 p.m.
Motion passed
to approve
September 14 minutes.
Motion passed
to approve September
financials.
Correspondence:
Diane Lagowski
created new data base; Tracy
Horvath will create financial
reporting; Carol
completed inputting all church member profiles.
Window dedications are almost complete. twenty more windows
available for purchase. Plaques will be hung next week for the
completed rooms.
November Communion offering
– we will adopt a
platoon
serving in Iraq.
Stewardship Campaign mailings
will begin October 30th;
lay presentations
in worship
on Nov. 5th & 12th.
Church and Family:
Team 1
will prepare communion
for November 5th.
Noted that consistory members need to be prepared to serve on
communion Sundays.
Covenant Players
are scheduled for worship on
October 29.
We
are hosting Thanksgiving Eve
worship service.
Women’s Guild
will provide refreshments
and ushers.
Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year.
Worship
will be 10 a.m.,
5 p.m.
and 9 p.m.
More
shut-ins were added to the list, need to be adopted.
Pastor Rich
is coordinating a post-high school group.
Pastor Rich
would like to host a family
advent event on
December 3.
Phil Ruperto
will assist Pastor Rich
in planning a congregation
advent event for family and
friends on December 3.
Education:
Christmas pageant rehearsals
will begin this week.
There
will be a teacher’s meeting
on Sunday, Oct. 22nd.
Junior Youth Group
collected $120
from bake sale
for Alan;
they collected 45 pairs
of shoes
and socks;
will rake leaves
for some of our homebound
in November.
Senior Youth Group
discussion on sex going well;
Lock-in had approximately
forty participants;
Rummage Sale
Nov. 9, 10 & 11.
Wrapped up Yankee Candle Sale last week; selling
tickets
to Evening of Giving
at Menlo Park Mall for Nov.
19; 22 signed up for Mission
Trip.
Confirmation Class
has eleven youth
in the class.
Adult
Education for October focused on
weekly scriptures;
for Advent
will study “The Christmas
Carol” by Charles Dickens.
Property &
Grounds:
Twenty-four windows
were installed October 7th &
8th ; hope to
complete
remaining odd windows on
October 28th and 29th. Need
twenty more windows dedicated.
Make a Difference Day
is October 28th
– we will be making a difference at St. Paul’s by cleaning up,
sprucing up and clearing out. All are invited to help.
