Ushers for November

Music at St. Paul’s

A church that I know proudly refers to its congregation as its “First Choir.” Its other music ensembles are integral to worship and very skilled, but less important than the song of the people. While professional musicians have led worship for a long time (see 1 Chronicles 25), the song of God’s children together may be even older (see Exodus 15). Remember that as you sing, you are praying or praising or responding to God’s grace.

Wanting to give more? November and December bring special worship opportunities to our music ministry.

Thanksgiving Service at Milltown United Methodist on Wed., Nov. 21st. Our adult choir will combine with the

Methodist choir. Rehearsals at St. Paul’s on Thurs., Nov. 15th (7:30 pm) and at MUM Wed., Nov. 21st at 6:30 pm (before the service). Questions? Speak with Emily Sensenbach-Gopal.

Children’s Christmas Pageant (Sun., Dec. 16th) will

rehearse during the Children’s Choir time, 11:30 to noon on Sundays, beginning on Oct. 28th. Questions? Speak to Elana Kircher.

Christmas Caroling on Sun., Dec. 16th after worship. Open to all.

Lessons and Carols On Sun., Dec. 23rd, our adult choir will lead a service of Lessons and Carols in lieu of its usual cantata. We will alternate anthems from a variety of traditions with favorite hymns and lessons. We could use:

Extra singers to supplement the choir
Readers
Instrumentalists

Talk to Emily if you are interested. Rehearsals are on Thurs. from 7:30 to 9 pm and will focus mainly on this service throughout Nov. and Dec.

Ongoing worship The choirs and praise team are always looking for recruits – speak to any member. In addition, consider whether you might offer to provide a vocal or instrumental solo, act as an occasional or substitute guitarist / choir member / sound engineer / pianist…

(We would love having someone at praise team rehearsals!)

Coffee HOUR HOSTS NEEDED!!!

Gary Conger is coordinator of the Sunday morning Coffee Hours and he would like to have your help by signing up to serve as a host. There is a sign-up sheet on the kitchen counter in the Social Hall. After signing up, if you would like your name and the occasion printed in the Church Bulletin, please call Carol at the church office (828-0020).
