Consistory Meeting Minutes
October 11, 2007

Pastor Rich opened meeting at 7:35 pm. with devotion based on 2Corinthians 8-10.

Motion to approve minutes of September meeting with noted correction, approved.

Motion to approve September Financials approved.

Motion to approve proposed 2008 Budget, approved.

Correspondence:
Letter from
Bishop Pipe Organ Company detailing need to plan for major overhaul of organ in upcoming years, estimated at $80,000. We could allow approx. $6,000 worth of repairs done each year for the next 5-10 years and accomplish overhaul without replacing motor. Suggestion made to get a second opinion itemizing costs and recommendations.

Finance and Administration
November Communion Offering will go to Local Needs; December –
World Vision Child.
Fall Stewardship Campaign – Looking for Rainbows
Junior Sermon Box – box will stay in church, child will bring in item on
Sunday listed in Tidings.

Church and Family
Communion – November 4 – Team 4
Thanksgiving Eve Service will be at the Methodist Church with Sandra Jenkins and members of her congregation.
Intergenerational Advent – December 2 – need to plan crafts, worship and a lite meal.

Education
Confirmation Class has 17 youth.
Junior Youth Group meeting 2nd and 4th Sundays.
Senior Youth Group meeting 1st and 3rd Sundays.
Adults Education - Revelations – have largest study group ever.
Mike will look into Kids Church program for young children to use on Communion Sundays.
There is a
waiting list for both kids and adults for 2008 Mission Trip.

Property and Grounds
Work is half finished on air conditioning.
Railing on front porch of manse needs repair.
Fall Work Day will be
Saturday, November 17 with a rain date of Sunday, November 18. Projects need to be identified.
Pastor Rich checked walls after heavy rains, no problems detected. Which means the bathrooms in the Education Building can be painted.
Broken Stain Glass Window on entrance door of Education Bldg. needs to be repaired.

Old Business
Motion approved for bid of
$6,605.52 from Twist’s Flooring to skimcoat entire floor to level and install new tiling and cove base.

New Business
Motion approved to re-nominate
Dan Compton as Deacon, term to begin January 2008.
Consistory retreat scheduled for Saturday, January 26.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. Next Consistory Meeting will be on Thursday, November 8.
