December 2000

Greetings,

A.S.A.P.

If you called my parent’s house and got the answering machine, my father’s voice promises that they will return your phone call A.S.A.P.   Traditionally we have come to know that the letters ASAP, means As Soon As Possible.  We think in terms of getting a very quick response to our call or our request.   Such demands when placed upon ourselves often cause stress and anxiety.

The season of Christmas lends itself to ASAP.   There is work to do and deadlines to meet.   The family often finds itself in midst of chaos trying to getting everything done.

Recently Diane gave me an ASAP email which could make a major difference in your life and in your Christmas if you do it ASAP.

A.S.A.P.

There’s work to do, deadlines to meet;
You’ve got no time to spare,
but as you hurry and scurry -

ASAP - Always Say A Prayer

In the midst of family chaos,
"Quality time" is rare.
Do your best; let God do the rest -

ASAP - Always Say A Prayer

It may seem like your worries
Are more than you can bear.
Slow down and take a breather -

ASAP - Always Say A Prayer

God knows how stressful life is;
He wants to ease your cares.
And He’ll respond to all your needs -

ASAP - Always Say A Prayer

Seeking Intercessors

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests,
prayers, intercession and thanksgiving
be made for everyone..."

1 Timothy 2:1

Although God is all powerful and all knowing, God has chosen to let us help Him change the world through our prayers.  How this works is a mystery, but it is a reality.  Paul urges us to pray for each other, to be intercessors.

YOU, are invited to join with other people every Thursday morning at 9:30 am in the choir room, to offer prayers of intercession and thanksgiving, to pray earnestly and witness to the powerful results God will bring about.
