Women's Guild

A special meeting of the Women’s Guild was held on Monday, November 19, 2007, at 12:00 noon in the Social Hall. The Vice President, Doris Weber, opened the meeting with silent mediation in memory of our faithful President, Donna Young, who passed away on October 22, 2007.

Doris will fill the office of Guild President (Vice President still needed) and Marjorie Conger will fill the office of Secretary (due to Ruth Karren’s resignation).

Treasurer,
Grace Novello, gave the financial report which consists of monies for the Guild, Organ Fund and Ruth Circle. Expenditure for blinds in the 5/6 classroom was paid from the Guild account. Parlor Room monies still being held in abeyance.

This was a meeting of the
Martha and Sarah Circles and after discussion it was decided to combine the Circles and meet as Guild members.

In recognition of their many faithful years as a team, the Guild will purchase and dedicate the four windows in the kitchen in memory of
Donna Young and in honor of Bob Young and an appropriate plaque will be made.

We will continue to have the
Soup Sale on the first Sunday in December, January, February and March. If any member of the congregation would like to make soup, please contact Doris Weber for the containers. Kitchen cutlery will also be sold at this time.

Nursing Home gifts will be assembled on Wednesday, December 12th, at 12:00 noon in the Social Hall. Appropriate boxes have been placed in the narthex.

Fruit baskets will be assembled on Saturday, December 15th in the church kitchen so that they might be delivered on the following Sunday when the carolers sing to the shut-ins.

The Guild and other ladies of the congregation will participate in the church service designated
Women’s Sunday on February 3rd, 2008. More details to come.

Doris closed the meeting with an inspirational story. The next business Guild meeting will be held on February 25th, 2008 at 11:30 A.M. in the Social Hall.

Marjorie G. Conger
Secretary
