The following prayer is author unknown:

Dear God,

So far today,
I've done all right.
I haven't gossiped.
I haven't lost my temper.
I haven't lied or cheated.
I haven't been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish or overindulgent.

I'm very thankful for that.

But in a few minutes, Lord,
I'm going to get out of bed;
and from then on, I'm probably
going to need a lot more help.

I can relate to that, can't you?  Perhaps you've even made it till today with your New Year's resolutions.  But you've still got 336 days to go!
Maybe it's been fairly easy so far, but from now on you're going to need a lot more help.

If so, continue with this prayer of David:

"Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.
Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with men
who work iniquity....My eyes are upon You, O GOD the Lord; in You I take
refuge." (Psalm 140:3-4a,8a)
