Who's Controlling Your Life?

I heard recently about a company that sometimes puts on what they call "Lunch and Learn" seminars during the employees' lunchtime, dealing with a variety of physical and mental health issues. If the seminar lasts beyond the normal lunch hours, the employees are supposed to get managerial approval to attend. So, recently, this flier came around:

LUNCH AND LEARN SEMINAR:

WHO'S CONTROLLING YOUR LIFE?

(Get your manager's permission before attending)

Looks like that question's been answered!

As Christians, we know what the answer is supposed to be for us. But it sometimes helps to remind us by asking the question again: "Who's controlling my life?" Jesus is often referred to in the New Testament as "the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ". It seems to me that we are sometimes anxious to claim Jesus as our "Savior", but somewhat reluctant to make him our "Lord". As our Savior, he offers us eternal life. As our Lord, he
demands full control of our lives. And that can be a scary thing because we want to maintain some control ourselves. May we strive for the day when we can say with the apostle Paul:

"I have been crucified with Christ;
it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."
(Gal. 2:20)

Who's controlling your life?

Have a great day!

In Jesus' name, Amen.
